Foundations & Slabs
Concrete Foundations & Slabs in High Point, NC
Footings, foundations and slabs for homes, additions, garages and shops. Everything that sits on top depends on this pour, so we treat the layout and the base as the job.

Foundations & Slabs built to last

A foundation or slab is the one part of a project you never see again once it’s done — which is exactly why it has to be right the first time.
We pour foundations and slabs for home additions, garages, workshops, sheds, and warehouse and shop buildings in High Point and the surrounding area. That includes excavation, forming, reinforcement sized to what the structure will carry, and a vapor barrier where moisture control matters. We work directly with homeowners as well as builders and general contractors, and coordinate around inspections and your construction schedule.
Built from the ground up
A slab is only as good as what’s under it. We lay out the footprint, set grades, dig and compact the base, and set reinforcement before a truck is ever called.
We coordinate with your builder or inspector on the schedule, so the pour happens when the site is actually ready, not just when the calendar says so.
Where we pour foundations and slabs
Home additions and sunrooms, garage and carport slabs, workshop and barn floors, shed and equipment pads, and footings for porches and decks.
What to expect with foundation & slab work
We show up with the layout already planned from our site visit. The crew excavates and compacts the base, sets forms and reinforcement, and pours and finishes the same day where the size allows — larger slabs may run over two days. We keep the site accessible for your inspector, and clean up before we leave.
- Site is excavated and graded to plan
- Base is compacted before any forms go up
- Reinforcement is set to match the load
- Site is cleaned up before we leave
Types of foundation & slab work
Foundation and slab work covers a wide range of projects, and the requirements shift depending on what’s going on top of it.

Home additions and garages
A home addition or garage slab has to tie into an existing structure cleanly and meet the same grade and finish as what’s already there. We plan the layout around your existing foundation lines and coordinate the pour so it doesn’t disrupt the rest of the house.

Shop, barn and shed slabs
Shop, barn, and shed slabs usually need to carry more than a typical driveway — equipment, vehicles, or storage racking. We size the reinforcement and thickness around what you’re actually going to put on it.

Footings and pads
Footings and pads support something specific — a porch, a deck, an HVAC unit, a generator. These are usually smaller pours, but they still get proper excavation and reinforcement sized to the load.
How a slab goes in
Here’s the general order most foundation and slab jobs follow, though the specifics shift depending on the size and what’s being built on top of it.
- 1
Layout and grades
We stake out the exact footprint and set grades based on your plans or the existing structure. This is also when we confirm setbacks and drainage direction, since both are much easier to fix on paper than after concrete is down.
- 2
Excavation and base
We excavate to the required depth and bring in and compact a stone base in layers. This step matters more than almost any other — a properly compacted base is what keeps the slab from settling or cracking later.
- 3
Forms and reinforcement
Forms are set to the exact layout, and reinforcement — rebar, wire mesh, or both — is placed based on what the structure needs to carry. A vapor barrier goes down here too if the slab will have flooring installed over it.
- 4
Pour and finish
We pour and finish the slab in one continuous run where the size allows, working in control joints to manage cracking as the concrete cures. Finish depends on what’s going on top — smooth for interior flooring, broom for anything exposed.
- 5
Strip forms and clean up
Once the concrete has cured enough to handle it, we strip the forms, clean up the site, and walk it with you or your builder before the inspector comes out.

Yes. We pour foundations and slabs for homeowners and for builders. We’ll match your schedule and the plans you’re working from.
Yes. Shed pads, workshop floors and garage slabs are common jobs for us. Tell us the size and what it needs to hold and we’ll quote it.
Inspections are scheduled by whoever pulled the permit, usually you or your builder. We make sure the work is ready when the inspector shows up.
It depends on what it’s supporting — a shed floor and a garage slab built for vehicles aren’t specified the same way. We size the thickness and reinforcement to your specific use when we quote the job.
