Concrete Repairs built to last

Commercial concrete

Cracked or sunken concrete doesn’t always mean starting over — often the right fix is cutting out just the damaged section and pouring new concrete that ties into what’s left.

We repair driveways, walkways, patios, and slabs in High Point and nearby towns — cutting out failed sections, fixing whatever caused the problem underneath, and pouring new concrete that lines up with the existing joints. We’ll look at what’s actually going on before recommending anything: sometimes it’s a drainage fix, sometimes it’s a section replacement, and sometimes the whole slab has had it. We tell you honestly which one applies.

Repair or replace? We’ll tell you straight

Some damage is a section problem, some is a whole-slab problem. We look at what caused it (drainage, roots, a weak base) and tell you honestly which fix will last.

When a repair makes sense, we saw-cut the damaged panels, fix what’s underneath and pour new sections that line up with the old joints.

What to expect with concrete repair work

We assess the damage and the cause first — often during the same visit as the quote. On the work day, we saw-cut the failed sections cleanly, remove them, fix the base if that’s the problem, and pour new concrete matched to the existing joint lines and finish.

  • Cause of the damage identified first
  • Failed sections saw-cut, not jackhammered randomly
  • Base repaired if that’s the root cause
  • New concrete matched to existing joints

Types of concrete repair work

Concrete repair covers a range of problems — here’s how the most common ones show up.

  • Driveway section replacement

When part of a driveway has cracked or settled but the rest is sound, we cut out just that section and pour new concrete that ties into the existing joints — faster and less expensive than replacing the whole driveway.

  • Sunken walks and steps

A sunken walk or step is usually a base problem — soil that’s washed out or settled underneath. We dig it out, fix the base, and repour, rather than just patching over the surface.

  • Patio and slab repairs

Patio and slab repairs follow the same logic — find what caused the damage, fix that first, then repour the affected section to match the rest of the surface as closely as possible.

Repair or replace: how we decide

Here’s the general process we walk through to figure out whether a repair or a full replacement is the right call.

  1. 1

    Find the cause

We start by figuring out what actually caused the damage — a drainage issue, roots, a weak original base, or just age. Fixing the symptom without addressing the cause just means repeating the repair later.

  2. 2

    Check the base

We check the condition of the base underneath the damaged area, since that’s often the real problem even when the surface looks like the issue. A repair without fixing a bad base won’t hold.

  3. 3

    Price both options

If it’s genuinely a close call between repairing and replacing, we’ll price both so you can decide with real numbers in front of you, not just our opinion.

  4. 4

    Cut, repair and match

Once we know the plan, we saw-cut the failed section cleanly, fix what’s underneath, and pour new concrete matched to the existing joint lines and finish as closely as possible.

New concrete is lighter than weathered concrete at first and evens out over time. We match the finish and joint lines so the repair looks intentional.

Often, yes. We’ll look at why it sank. If the base is the problem, we fix the base before pouring.

Usually, when the damage is limited to a few sections. If most of the slab has failed, replacing it is the better value. We’ll price both if it’s close.

If the damage is contained to a section or two and the rest of the slab is sound, repair is almost always worth it. We’ll tell you plainly if that’s not the case.
